June is a month of transformation — in nature, in learning, and in the way we connect with the world around us. At Muzeiko, the largest children’s science centre in Eastern Europe, we’re turning that energy into action. This June, we’re celebrating children, discovery, and the power we all have to protect our planet.
We begin with a very special day: June 1 – International Children’s Day. Muzeiko welcomes all the children of Sofia and its visitors with a festive programme full of science adventures, creative workshops, fun games and unforgettable surprises. The museum will be filled with energy, colour and smiles — making this day one to remember.
And for the grown-up kids among us, June 19 marks a truly unique evening — Science Night, a special adults-only event focused on climate science. Guests will enjoy hands-on experiments, live demonstrations, talks with leading scientists, and plenty of musical surprises from some of Bulgaria’s favourite stars. It’s an inspiring evening full of action, ideas, and entertainment — not to be missed!
Muzeiko’s June programme also features three exciting themed weekends. On June 7, “Profession Under the Magnifying Glass” welcomes a real palaeontologist who will unveil the mysteries of prehistoric life and share what it’s like to uncover fossils from Earth’s ancient past. On June 15, we celebrate “Little Explorers’ Day” with specially designed activities for children aged 2 to 5 — playful, sensory-rich experiences that spark curiosity and support early development. Then, on June 22, we unleash creativity with “Creative Challenges,” where children can explore science and art through imaginative hands-on projects.
Throughout the month, the Sensory Zone offers younger visitors a space to explore with colourful puzzles, tactile boards, and interactive cubes that engage the senses and invite joyful discovery.
And of course, the Planetarium continues to dazzle. Our show “A Walk Through the Solar System” takes children and parents on a journey through space, exploring the planets, asking whether life might exist on Mars or Venus, and learning to distinguish between stars and planets. The show runs daily and is available in English from Tuesday to Sunday at 1:30 PM, making it a perfect choice for international visitors and English-speaking families in Sofia.
Muzeiko is home to over 130 bilingual interactive exhibitions spread across three floors, making it a place for endless exploration in science, engineering, nature and innovation — where learning comes alive in Bulgarian and English.
This June, Muzeiko is more than a museum. It’s a place where curiosity becomes action, where learning leads to understanding, and where families come together to care for the Earth.
June also marks World Environment Day – the perfect time to bring your children to Muzeiko, spark their love for nature, and help them understand the importance of protecting our planet.
Join us in celebrating knowledge, discovery and the beauty of our world.
